Ughhh I have been trying to reblog this for the past 15 minutes but Tumblr won’t format it properly and nothing I write shows up, so this will have to do.
I didn’t want to post anything about this because I feel like enough has been said, but I can’t believe there are actually girls who feel like this.
How can this situation possibly be Kelly’s fault?! A grown man defamed her on a radio program with absolutely NO provocation. Kelly didn’t do anything to illicit that kind of slander; Randy and the other misogynistic assholes hosting the show made the decision on their own to make those comments, and they are the ones who should be “lying in their own bed and suffering”.
I’m not a fan of Kelly Kelly, but slut-shaming is never okay. Who are you to tell a woman how many men she can sleep with? If Kelly wants to fuck everyone in the locker room, then that is her business. There is no ‘right’ number of people to have sex with. The right number for you is undoubtedly going to be different to the right number for someone else.
I’m all for Kelly coming out and embracing this ‘image’. I think it would really rule if she took back control of the words being thrown at her and made these ignorant men realise that they don’t have the power here, but the fact that she should even have the opportunity to do that is a problem. The fact that her sex life is now public domain is a problem, because she isn’t the one who put it out there.
So, you know what? You are right. The truth does hurt, because the truth is that there are women like you in the world. Women who think it’s okay to judge another woman because they aren’t exactly the same as you. Women who let their attraction to a particular man cloud their judgement and excuse their blatant misogyny.
